Walter Jones Historical Park is a City of Jacksonville park. It is open from sunrise to sunset. It is 10 acres, fronts the St. Johns River, has wonderful wide and flat walking paths and is a place of beauty and respite. The Mandarin Museum & Historical Society operates the Mandarin Museum and the historic buildings in the park. The Mandarin Museum and the 1898 St. Joseph's Mission Schoolhouse for African-American Children and schoolhouse are open on Saturdays from 9-4. The other buildings are open for scheduled group tours and field trips, special events and usually on the 1st Saturday of the month from 10-2.
